The official detention-center page lists Camp Verde and Prescott as the county's two adult jail locations. Sheriff David Rhodes leads YCSO, while detention operations are managed through the agency's detention command structure.

The facility holds adult county-jail detainees. That includes people waiting for court, people serving county or city jail sentences, people being moved between the county's two adult jail buildings, and people awaiting transport or transfer. The public roster uses a unified YCSO Online Inmate Search rather than a separate Camp Verde roster. Rows inspected in the research showed local location labels such as CVDC UNIT 2, CVDC UNIT 3, CVDC UNIT 4, CVDC UNIT 6, PJC UNIT A, and MEDICAL. CVDC is the useful clue for Camp Verde, but the sheriff does not publish a public decoder for each unit.

Camp Verde Capacity Notes

Camp Verde Detention Center does not have a single current rated-capacity number on the public YCSO facility page. The most useful official source is the county's 2025 inmate automated tracking RFP, which gives layout detail instead of a simple public bed count. It describes five working units. Each unit has four dorms, each dorm has 15 cells, and each cell has two bunks. Each unit also has a separate interview room, while the facility includes dayrooms, community showers, infirmary cells, booking holding cells, and transfer holding cells.

That layout should not be converted into an official capacity figure without a direct county statement. The research file also notes that Jail Data Initiative and BJS list a system capacity of 797, but that figure is a BJS/JDI-derived system number, not a Camp Verde-only number posted by YCSO. The county's strongest recent population source is a Jail District RFP and a later sheriff BAFO letter using a 2023 adult average daily population of 554 and a medical-pricing range of 500 to 600 people across the adult jail system.

YCSO's Specialized Professional Units page adds one operational population phrase: Court Services coordinates appearances with more than 30 courts and a population exceeding 500 inmates. That is best read as a system workload clue, not as a published current count for one housing unit or one jail building.

Camp Verde Inmate Lookup

Camp Verde Jail Visits

Camp Verde onsite visits are video visits. YCSO says they occur in a specially constructed building with video monitors next to detention center parking. The county also offers remote internet video visitation through Securus for a charge, which can help family members who live far from Camp Verde or Prescott.

Camp Verde Mail and Money

Camp Verde Booking and Bond

People arrested or committed by court order may be booked at Camp Verde or Prescott depending on arrest location, court needs, housing space, and transport. YCSO intake rules say people surrendering or entering custody should not bring suitcases, toiletries, linens, makeup, books, stamps, jewelry, mechanical devices, knives, over-the-counter medication, checkbooks, crafts, candy, cigarettes, extra clothing, musical instruments, or phones. The jail provides clothing, footwear, hygiene items, and linens.

Bonds may be posted in person 24 hours a day at the Camp Verde and Prescott jails. YCSO also accepts online and phone bond payments through GovPayNet or GovPayNow using Pay Location Code A001YN. The payer needs the payment amount and the arrestee or defendant name. Bond questions should be tied back to the court of jurisdiction because the public roster does not display bond amounts in inspected rows.

Arizona criminal process requires an arrested person to have an initial appearance within 24 hours or be released. At that hearing, the judge addresses identity, charges, counsel, probable cause for release purposes, and release conditions.
